How We Invest in Life-Saving Brain Cancer Research

At the Brain Cancer Research Alliance we are committed to ensuring that every dollar raised is used responsibly to advance research, support scientific discovery, and bring hope to patients and families affected by brain cancer.


We fund projects across a broad spectrum of brain tumor research, including studies on oligodendroglioma, astrocytoma, glioblastoma and emerging therapeutic approaches.

How We Select Research to Fund

BCRA partners with leading research institutions, hospitals, universities, and scientists and carefully review based on:

  • Scientific innovation
     
  • Potential clinical impact
     
  • Collaborative research approach
     
  • Relevance to patient care and survival outcomes
     
  • Long-term potential for advancing treatments and cures
     

We prioritize funding for both early-stage research with high promise and ongoing studies that bring new hope to patients.

Grants and Funding for Brain Cancer Research: Advancing Innovation and Hope

We are pleased to announce the financial awards made to organizations who are making a notable difference in brain cancer research 

Evelyn F. & William L. McKnight Brain Institute of the University of Florida

October 2024:  We are thrilled to share that we have awarded a grant of $100,000 to the McKnight Brain Institute of the University of Florida.


This grant will support brain cancer research, with a preferred focus on oligodendroglioma, using immunologic treatments including vaccines, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy and stem cells. 


Research updates will be bi-yearly.

The National Brain Tumor Society

 We are proud to support the National Brain Tumor Society through financial contributions and by advocating alongside them for increased federal funding for brain cancer research. By working together to lobby Congress and secure vital resources through the National Cancer Institute and other federal programs, we aim to accelerate advancements in brain tumor research and treatment.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

 Our support of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is dedicated specifically to advancing new treatment options for brain cancer. Through targeted funding, we aim to accelerate research that brings innovative therapies and hope to those affected by this challenging disease.
